From a collection of Shakespeare heroines by Anna Jameson and illustrated by Robert Anning Bell.
Anna Jameson was English writer, feminist and art historian. Jameson selected 25 of Shakespeare's most well known female characters from 21 of his plays and placed each of his heroines into four categories:

- Characters of Passion and Imagination - including Ophelia
- Characters of the Affections
- Historical Characters
Robert Anning Bell (1863–1933) was a key figure in the Arts and Crafts Movement. Bell’s striking red and black drawings are typical of the Art Nouveau style.
